Welcome to Senior Infants!
For the month of October, Senior Infants have been learning about Autumn and the role of the farmer during Autumn. In the role play area the children visited the Pumpkin Patch and there they met a farmer who was harvesting some crops. In the Construction Area, the children certainly got in role wearing there Hi-Vis and hard hats. They were building farms and farmhouses. In the Creative Area, the children worked with Múinteoir Anna and created Autumnal Trees and in the Small-World the children visited a mini-farm.
Everyday in Senior Infants we work on our Fine and Gross Motor Activities to help make our hands, bodies and mind grow much stronger. Here are just a few of the activities that the children do in school.
In September, we welcomed the children back to school and we spent some time learning ‘All about Me’. In Aistear, both in the Role-Play Area and the Small-World Area, the children took on the role of various people in the home (mam, dad, granny, grandad, auntie, uncle, baby, sister, brother, babysitter, etc.). In the Construction Area they children worked together to build homes. We spend some time describing ourselves and in Creative Art, the children designed their own self-portraits.
